    Hey!

     

    No problem, both can be used it depends exactly what behaviour you want on the target/mat.

     

    If you’re wanting to teach more of a controlled behaviour for example a head low or elongated nose target then  use the mat if you wanted to teach more of a crazy head bob, or lure more with food then use the target – this depends on the dog, if you need more speed/confidence, then I would use the target. If you have a dog which is very pushy and lacks self-control, then I would use the mat.
