    Hey!

Ideally, when retraining it’s best not to compete to the dog walk, when you’re at a stage in training when you can either ask for two onto two off or running contact then maybe it is more possible to compete it, however usually when training the running contact at the moment you’re not practising your 2on 2off otherwise it could create a bit more confusion, usually I wait until I have a pretty solid understanding of the running contact before then trying to discriminate between the two – usually this is quite easy as long as the dog really understands each different verbal.

In regards to your next question, with the front feet hits versus the back feet hits, yes definitely I would carry on as you are, especially because it is a retrain – reward? Reward the front foot hits and just really jackpot the rear foot hits.
