    It sounds like it’s a little bit of both – (distance and commitment)

     

    The good news is it’s easier to work on both in the small space, he just have to use the small space to your advantage!

     

    For example, having less equipment in the small space arena means that you can have more distance and space between each obstacle therefore working on your distance is still possible, at the same time this could help with the commitment.

     

    Also, it’s easy to not do too much movement around working on commitment in the smaller area, so make sure you’re adding in movement and leaving obstacles early while the dog is still taking them to practice this, you can make sure you reward back lots at the jumps or a piece of equipment to reward the value and commitment
